Reverend Jamie Kent is honored to serve as the Senior Minister here at First Christian Church in Paris. In his own words, “I grew up in a small Christian Church in upper East Tennessee and have always loved Christ and His Church. I begin as the minister here in May 2020 with great excitement and enthusiasm. I have served in ministry 25 years in the Christian Churches/Disciples of Christ and United Churches of Christ and Christian Churches throughout Tennessee, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana. I’ve served as interim, youth minister, and minister. I had the honor of attending Johnson University in Knoxville, Tennessee and graduated with an Associates degree in Youth/Bible and a Bachelors degree in Leadership/Ministry.

Jamie is married to Susan and they have a total of 6 children between them. Gwen, Ethan, Nicole, Braden, Jamilee, Brenna. They love the Lord Jesus and enjoy the work of the kingdom of God and sharing Jesus.

John Snidle has served FCC as Youth and Family Minister since the beginning of 2018. He holds a BA in Spiritual Formation from Lincoln Christian University and is always trying to learn new things from people, experiences, and educational books.
John has a passion for challenging children and young adults to learn more about their Savior and developing more spiritually mature right alongside his students. The greatest satisfaction he gets from his ministry is watching God do BIG things through his small self.
John is married to a gorgeous gal named Riley Snidle and has been since September of 2018. In his free time, he enjoys all things outdoors: hiking, camping, fishing, climbing, shooting, baseball, and soccer.
John’s favorite scripture verse is
“Proclaim the message; be persistent whether the time is favorable or unfavorable; convince, rebuke, and encourage, with the utmost patience in teaching.” ~ 2 Timothy 4:2
Cheryl Clark has been the Office Manager for the First Christian Church since 2003.
Cheryl has five children and six grandchildren.
She enjoys reading, old movies, decorating, country music and horseback riding.
Cheryl is passionate about supporting the ministry of the Lord and working with His people. She appreciates the relationships and interaction with those who come into the office. She especially likes the parts of her position that allow her to be creative.
Cheryl attends the Pleasant Hill Christian Church where her father ministered for nearly twelve years. As soon as she learned how to type, she became his secretary. Because of that, she has been a church secretary for a long time. She smiles as she says, “let’s just say I was a secretary before home computers!”
Mrs. Jessica Hendrickson joined the FCC staff as Chancel Choir director in 2019. She is married to husband, Eric and currently serves as the choir director and assistant director of bands at Paris High School and Mayo Middle School. Her duties include the PHS Choir, Elite Harmony, Mayo Middle School choir, Music Director of the Spring musical, as well as assisting Dr. Pruiett and Ms. Farley with the Paris High School and Mayo Middle School bands.
Mrs. Hendrickson studied at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in music education with an emphasis in horn. Jessica started her masters in music education at The University of Illinois in the summer of 2019.
Besides music, she enjoys longs walks on the beach and spending time with her three rescue pitbulls.
Kathy Peel as been the Organist of the First Christian Church since 1987 and the Bell Choir Director since 2007.
She is married to Tony and together they are the parents of two children, Jamie and Aaron (deceased). She is the grandmother to James and is the daughter of the late Alma Titus, a long-time member of FCC.
Kathy enjoys music, reading and babysitting James.
She enjoys the family atmosphere and the support of music used in the worship services at FCC.
Kathy is a graduate of Paris High School, has lived in Paris all her life and works outside the church full time.
Patty Waters took on the duties of financial secretary in 2019.
She lives and owns farmland in Elbridge township. Her family includes son, Chris, and his wife, Brittany.
Patty retired in 2014 after forty years in human resources management. Thirty-seven of those years were at the Bemis Company in Terre Haute. In her spare time, Patty enjoys gardening, deer hunting with her son, reading and working on farm projects. She is also an avid runner.
Patty especially enjoys the friendly, supportive congregation at FCC. She has been a member since 2005. She is appreciative of the church’s involvement in our community and as a result, serves as a volunteer at the Community Kitchen and helps with God’s Gang.
Jim Mathis has been the Assistant Financial Secretary at the First Christian Church since 2012.
He is married to Cindy and they have two children, Megan and Malloree and one grandchild, Taylor. His sisters, Peggy Barath and Coralie Smittkamp are very active members at FCC. He has a brother Bob who lives TN.
Jim loves watching sports and favorite shows on TV, listening to music, being involved in community and church events, politics, Kiwanis and singing in the choir.
Jim has been involved with some aspect of FCC since his childhood. He feels FCC is like an extended family and really enjoys working with the Financial Secretary and the responsibility that is a part of the position.
Jim is retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation. He is currently serving as Paris Township Clerk, Precinct Committeeman Paris 10, Secretary of the Kiwanis Club of Paris as well as Advisor to the Paris Kiwanis Aktion Club. He is also Treasurer of the Edgar County Republican Central Committee, Paris and is an International Thanksgiving Fellowship Board member.
Betty Ann Kelly has been a Custodian at First Christian Church since 2014. She and Forest have four children, five grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
She really enjoys doing things for her church, spending time with the family, going on vacations, music, reading, walking, shopping with her daughters and granddaughters and taking pictures of the grandchildren.
Betty likes her position at FCC because the people are friendly, polite and very helpful. Her job hours are flexible and the working conditions are very clean.
She is a member of Nevins Christian Church, worked at TRW for eighteen and one half years and was employed at Colson’s for ten years. Previously she and her family lived in California for ten years.
Linda Warner began her house cleaning duties at FCC in 2020. She has four children (three girls and a boy), ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Needless to say, she enjoys being with family and especially attending the school activities of the kids.
Linda is an avid gardener. She has been known to spend hours in her yard at home working and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. When the weather requires her to be inside, she can usually be found solving word puzzles.
Linda says that everyone at FCC is so nice and friendly. She enjoys the time at work, especially working with her friend, Betty Kelly who she has known since 1974.
