Youth News

Don’t forget about our newest source of encouragement to parents, the “Parent Resource Center”. If you have any material, articles, references, etc. that you think would be useful for other parents to hear, please tell me about it! I would love any input, advice, and suggestions from all of you.

We had our first Chili Supper last week and let me tell you, it was a hoot! All we did was eat chili, hang out, play games, and other normal youth group shenanigans; but there’s just something special about gathering around the table with great food and great friends.

Youth Group / Crossroads / God’s Gang

Youth Group is every Sunday from 6-8 at the church. We are still learning about what it looks like to take care of our Spirits.

This Wednesday, December 9th, is our last God’s Gang and Crossroads of the year! Terribly sad, I know. But if you look at it as taking a break to spend extra time with family and focus on school work, it’s not too bad! We will resume on February 10th; same time, same place, same fun!

God’s Gang and Crossroads are also sad to lose one of our founding members, Angel Templeton, after this week. She is retiring after 10+ years of being a loving, supportive, and all-around excellent leader of this ministry. We wish her farewell and we will miss her greatly.

Upcoming Events

Every year, in-between Christmas and New Year’s, we have one of our biggest events: Frenzy! This is normally a lock-in with games, skating, pizza, music, candy, a movie, and an assortment of other classic lock-in things. However, this year, it has been changed (I’m sure you can imagine why) to purely a roller-skating party.

There will still be pizza of course. December 27th from 6-8 pm at the Twin Lakes Roller Rink. Everyone will meet there, and the asking donation price is $5. Masks will be required, so this event is open to any and every friend, brother/sister, acquaintance, or second-cousin thrice removed on your father’s side that you may have that is in Jr or High school! Invite them all!

Our annual Ski Trip is coming up soon, January 15-18; and the deadline to sign-in is even closer! Please turn in your forms ASAP because we need them yesterday! Due the restrictions at our normal camp, we are going to a new ski resort and staying at a new church camp. I think it will actually be a nicer camp and better slopes than usual, but that does mean the cost has gone up about $25, which is plenty doable!

We have had our coffee bar fundraiser available to everyone who wants help paying for it, but remember that the church is always willing to give further help to those who ask. We don’t want anyone missing this awesome opportunity because of a few dollars!
