“And he said to them, ‘Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation.’” ~ Mark 16:15
Jesus spent three years moving about in the region of Galilee; teaching, healing, and caring for those in need. Following His crucifixion, death, and resurrection, He appeared to the disciples to give them the “Great Commission”.
They knew what Jesus had done in serving, now it was time for them to step out of their comfort zone – of being a follower – and step up to the responsibility of being leaders in God’s Church. This was necessary in order that the “Good News” of Jesus would be able to step forward around the world.
The command to ‘Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation,’ was not going to be a simple task to accomplish; this would easily cause some of the disciples concern.
There are times of difficulty and/or transition in our lives that can be equally challenging. Allow God’s guiding hand to lead you through those times.
Gracious and all-knowing God, You continue to bless us by Your guiding hand over our lives. Allow us the joy that comes in celebrating Your Son; and a remembrance of His birth. Allow us to praise You for each day that You give to us and for the hope that comes from being in relationship with You, through Your Son. Amen!
