Step-Touch God’s Way

“For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.” ~ I Peter 2:21

The Bible is loaded with stories where the characters stepped out of their own circumstances to love or be loved. On the Sea of Galilee, Peter stepped out of the boat to embrace Jesus. The bleeding woman stepped forward and touched Jesus’s robe and received Divine healing. Christ, before his crucifixion, stepped on the “Via Delarosa” on his way to the cross. After the resurrection, Thomas stepped forward, questioned, and touched Jesus’s nail pierced hands.

We all need to step out and touch those who we meet every day. Whether it is with a hug, a word of encouragement/comfort, a compliment, or a scripture that touches their hearts. Like Jesus, we must love without reservation.

Quotes from two books I read recently by Bob Goff:

Love Does – “I used to think being loved was the greatest thing to think about, but now I know love is never satisfied just thinking about it.” “I used to think that taking a risk would reduce the number of friends I have, but now I know that love draws more people in.”

Everyone Always – “Love one another. What is simple often isn’t easy: what is easy doesn’t last.” “Love always multiplies itself.”

Dear Lord, Thank You for Your awesome love. Amen
