For me, the holiday seasons help me reminisce on what I am thankful for. Like many, I am guilty for not showing gratitude to the ones I love on a daily basis. It seems as if life “gets in the way” and we lose track of time with work, school, etc. We tend to push these simple tasks off to the side or even at the bottom of our “to-do” list, when it should be our priority. Not only should we say thank you to our loved ones around us, but we should also thank God for His forgiveness and unconditional love.
Along with being grateful, Christmas brings me many other emotions too. Whether it’s the family traditions – like going to church on Christmas Eve, or even watching “A Christmas Story” on Christmas Day – this holiday has always brought great joy to my life.
Without a doubt, the gleaming lights and awesome presents are a plus, but my favorite part is the time spent with family. The endless laughter and smiles are what make my Christmas’s one of a kind and will always give me the best memories.
I hope Christmas is a time when you can be thankful and reminisce on all your blessings.
Lord, Forgive me when I don’t take the time to say “thank you” to You. I am grateful for all You have done for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Today pray for someone who works in an office or store by name.
