Good evening, here is your weekly update for May 28th.
Please pray for Sue Bennett who is waiting to come home following a surgery last week in Indianapolis.
Please continue to pray for Ray Coombes at Providence Center, for Bob Martin who is at home, and for Sonnee Thiel’s fiancé in rehabilitation in St. Louis.
Pray also for Cathy Melendez who is awaiting an upcoming procedure, and for Mike Kirk who was forced to return home from his summer camp counsellor position following a Covid outbreak at the camp in Tennessee.
Sympathies go out to Kevin Good and the rest of the Good family in the death of Kevin’s mother, Nancy, yesterday.
Congratulations to Lauren Ricketts and family in the birth of her baby boy, Curtis Austin James Lapradd!
We officially have a new minister! Reverend Jamie Kent’s pastorate officially began yesterday and he is off to a busy start. Please make the Kent Family feel welcome.
Please continue to express your appreciation to Rev. Mark and Kendala Parkinson for their love and leadership during our time of transition.
The contact page on the FCC website is temporarily down but should be resolved soon. In the meantime, feel free to contact the church office and staff by phone (217) 466-3255 or email.
Good news! After several months, plans are being made to resume worship services in our sanctuary as early as June 6th & 7th. Our first priority is to do this in a way that is safe and healthy for everyone, and this will require lots of flexibility, courtesy, and cooperation from EVERYONE. Details will follow within the next two days. Please pray for our congregation and its leadership so that this may be done the right way.
The Messenger is again being published on its traditional summer biweekly schedule. Accordingly, this will be the final Thursday Update Autocall. Hats off to Joe Gill who has done an exceptional job of keeping the church connected through our website, and to everyone who has worked to get our church family through this difficult time.
With that, you are up-to-date. Thank you and have a blessed week!
