On February 2nd the youth of First Christian Church combined their leadership skills and love of Christ to lead the congregation and community guests in a combined worship at 9am. Elementary through high school age youth contributed to every aspect of the service including the calls to worship and giving, prayers for the sick, scripture readings, the leading of the Lord’s Prayer as well as serving communion to the congregation. Brianna Taylor was baptized during the service by Youth Pastor John Snidle. Taylor Shewey gave the Children’s Sermon which included a special appearance by Zoe. The Scouts were recognized as they gave a demonstration of their community work and goals. A 15-voice all-Youth Choir directed by Jessica Hendrickson presented “Light of the World.” An audio recording of their performance can be heard HERE. The Sunday morning sermon was delivered by high school students Mike Kirk III and Greg Johnson. To listen to their powerful message entitled “Lord, Forgive Us of Our Cotton Candy,” click HERE.
