Silly and Best Gifts

A few years ago, at Christmas time, I started saving quarters as a silly gift thing. I would fill a small container that had a lid with quarters. It only amounted to about $6 in change, but I would give them to my four grandkids as a silly gift.

I thought maybe this year I wouldn’t do this silly gift, but my oldest daughter said, “Yes, keep giving the kids this silly gift!” So, I will again.

My youngest daughter started a silly gift of a pair of worn out tennis shoes, wrapped up of course, it was passed back and forth from one house to another – surprise, it’s the same shoes!

The best gift, I only saw in pictures, read about, and have heard about, was the baby Jesus in the manger. What a miracle! This was no silly gift. It is the best gift, and is given to us to share with all.

It’s an eternal gift. I know Richard and Christine are laughing in heaven at grandma’s silly gifts, but that’s because they knew the One who was the best gift of all.
