Holidays Without A Loved One

This holiday season will be the first without my husband… in 62 years. That’s a lot of memories to have to get me through all the preparations. My family and friends will be there for me with their love and support so that I am able to prepare and face the celebration to come with faith and love, smiles and hugs, presents and food, worship and song. God is with me.

I am ready to step out of my deep grief, step up to all our memories together to sustain me, and step forward to my new life without the love of my life. I am sad that he is gone, but happy that he was.

PS: My love to those who are also facing the holidays without a loved one. Just remember that Jesus said…

“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” ~ John 14:2
