Finding Beauty In Change

Change is not a word that everybody loves. Many have trouble with change because it might mean uncertainty for them. Others fear change because they assume they will fail when faced with doing something a different way. How do we move forward when things change? It should be the same way we move forward with all things in our life – with faith.

Perhaps you have struggled with a difficult change in your life. Maybe it was the first Christmas after losing someone close to you. Maybe it was a change in employment that you did not have input in. Maybe it was a divorce. Those can be life-altering changes that seem to have no silver lining. However, if we have faith, we can find beauty in the changes.

God brings about changes to our life in many ways. The seasons are a great example of this. This time of year, many are already dreading the cold of winter. However, God is giving us beauty with the changes. The leaves are changing and dying, but there is beauty in the change.

Perhaps in our lives we should look for the beauty whenever we face a change, and have faith that through the changes, God will be with us. The Bible tells us that to “everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under the heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1) We might not enjoy every season, especially when they include changes, but we can accept, move on, and be stronger because of them.
